James died sometime before 1841, as he is not in the 1841 Scottish Census. At the time of the census, Agnes is 40 years old and lives with 3 of her children: Peter, Christina, and James. There are also three other children living in their household, indicating that they may have been adopted or have been under the care of Agnes. At that time, they lived on Saltmaker Street in the civil parish of Glasgow, St. Andrews.[2]
